The figures are still here. The answers at the foot of the page cover what counts as a page, what the £100 a month buys, what a change costs and what everything else is priced at.

Frequently asked questions.

Our aim is for the cost of your website to be clear before our first conversation. These answers cover some of the practical details of our pricing, what’s included, and what happens next.

What’s included in the build fee?

The build fee covers the work involved in taking your website from the initial requirements through to launch.

That includes discovery and planning, design and development, revisions, testing, accessibility and performance checks, platform setup, domain connection and going live.

What’s included in the monthly fee?

The monthly fee covers the ongoing hosting, management and operation of your website. That includes things like UK hosting, security, monitoring, backups, updates, performance checks and privacy-friendly analytics. Support packages are an optional extra for customers that require content updates more regularly.

To learn more, see hosting.

What counts as a change and what counts as new work?

Changes are updates to something that already exists, such as changing copy or images, adding a team member or case study, or making a minor adjustment within an existing page layout. All covered in a monthly support plan.

New pages, new functionality, third-party integrations and structural redesigns are treated as new work and quoted separately. Depending on what’s needed, this may include additional design or development work.

What happens if I want to leave?

We don’t lock you in. If you decide to leave, we’ll provide your website’s front-end code and all of your assets, along with instructions for moving the website to another host. There’s no handover or transfer fee: the website build is yours.

We require 30 days written notice. This enables your website to remain live while we prepare it for handover at the end of the 30 day period.

Do you work with existing websites, or only build new ones?

We build websites on our own infrastructure, so we can’t simply take over and manage an existing website. Our hosting, security and management are designed around websites built on our systems.

If you’re happy with how your current website looks, we can rebuild it on our infrastructure instead. We’ll keep the existing design while bringing it up to our standards, including accessibility checks, performance improvements and the rest of our infrastructure setup. This can be simpler and more affordable than designing a new website from scratch, but it still requires a build fee and build process to ensure it’s done well.

What happens after I request a call?

We’ll first review your enquiry to make sure Vulcn is a good fit for what you need. If it is, we’ll arrange a 45 minute call to understand your business, requirements and what you’re looking to achieve.

After the call, we’ll prepare a proposal and quote. If you’re happy to proceed, we’ll onboard you and begin the design process, including the necessary briefing meetings.

If we don’t think we’re the right fit, we’ll tell you why and, where we can, point you towards a more suitable option.
